During a recent visit to the Lankagama area in Neluwa to inspect the road being constructed around the Sinharaja Reserve, a request made by the residents of the area to the President was granted with the intervention of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The people requested the President to provide internet facilities to their children to enhance their knowledge.
In response, Sri Lanka Telecom has taken steps to provide internet facilities to the Lankagama area. Marking its inception, arrangements have been made to provide internet facilities to the students of G / Nelu / Lankagama Model Junior School.

The President has commended the management and staff of Sri Lanka Telecom for providing these children, who are studying under very difficult circumstances, with internet access in a very short period of time as a foundation to connect with the world.
